Other Books for Healing

Everybody's Guide to Homeopathic Remedies by Stephen Cummings & Dana Ullman

This is the one that I use as my homeopathic bible. When the children were smaller, I could usually get to the correct remedy quickly and easily. It's still the one I turn to when helping clients and the one I recommend the most.

Green Pharmacy by James Duke

Dr. Duke does a wonderful job in easy and understandable reading of herbal medicines. His book is laid out beautifully and gives many facts around how the herbs are used and what to look for.

Beating Cancer with Nutrition by Patrick Quillin

This is the book most recommended by cancer survivors. It is complete and to the point. It helps puts you in charge of your healing journey.

Earl Mindels Herb Bible by Earl Mindell

Quick, simple and direct. I use this for easy reference material at the store.

The Biochemic Handbook

The best for determining the use of the 12 bio-chemic tissue salts. The tissue salts nourish and cleanse on the cellular level. They play a huge role in helping us heal. They are safe and effective and can be used for young and old alike with no side affects.

The 38 Bach Flower Essences

A general guideline for beginners to use when working with the Bach Flower Essences. It is a simple guide that gives a brief explanation of both the positive and negative influences of the emotions associated with each flower.

The Homeopathy Bible by Ambika Wauters

I found this book in a small book shop in Mystic and love how it is so simple to use. It is set up like a dictionary of all the remedies general symptoms, mind and emotions that may be connected to it as well as the physical symptoms that might be relieved. It is well written as a guide to remedies that I have not found in many other books. It's well worth having this one in your home.

Books to Help Us on Our Spiritual Walk

Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert

This book was recommended by a number of my friends. Elizabeth writes about a serious subject with light and humor. Anyone who has felt the need to heal loss or separation could benefit from her journey through Italy, India and Indonesia.

The Camel Knows the Way By Lorna Kelly
The Camel Knows the Way is yet another book that shares a personal journey of spiritual growth and development. Lorna finds herself drawn to Mother Theresa through a book that was given to her. She takes the reader into her most intimate thoughts and experiences allowing us the opportunity to look deep with in our own souls.

Behaving as if the God in all Life Mattered by Machaelle Small Write
This is one of the first books I read which sparked my spiritual journey. Everything Machaelle said touched a unique cord. I recommend it highly for a book that makes you truly think differently about the god in all of us.

Conversations with God (Books 1, 2 and 3) by Neale Donald Walch
Once I started this series, I could not stop reading it. It allowed me to get back in touch with my own spiritual truths and helped me to spark old memories that were waiting to be remembered.

Spontaneous Healing by Andrew Weil, M.D.
Dr. Weil writes gently and clearly and he thinks so much like me its scary. It is an empowering journey reminding each one of us that ultimately, we are responsible for our own healing.

Anatomy of the Spirit by Caroline Myss

I was fortunate to attend a seminar by Caroline Myss at Kirpalu Institute in Massachusetts years ago. She was as powerful to listen to as she is to read. Anatomy of the Spirit gives a greater understanding of the chakras and their purpose on the physical level. This is a book that is so deep it needs to be read slowly to absorb it all, but well worth the effort.

Why People Don't Heal and How They Can by Caroline Myss

Another very powerful piece of work. I truly enjoy how Caroline Myss thinks and brings her thoughts into action. She placed the responsibility of healing right back where it belongs - on each and every one of us.

Seven Spiritual Laws of Success by Deepak Chopra

This is a gentle, wonderful, simple little book that says it all. We should each take the time to begin practicing these techniques daily until it becomes our way of life.

Harry Potter (the series) by J.K. Rowling

A fun series about wizardry. My whole family could not help but read each and every one. It gives us an understanding about the forces of good and evil in a way that is easy to relate to each day in our own lives.

Books for Healthy Cooking

Kripalu Cookbook by Atma Joanne Livitt

This is a book I picked up while visiting Kripalu Yoga Center in the Berkshires of Massachusetts. I was impressed with the way Kripalu has mastered the art of making macrobiotic food taste so good!

Tofu Cookery by Louise Hagler

This is the finest tofu cookbook we found. Each recipe is simple and mouth watering. We learned how to cook tofu from the best! We recommend it highly.

Deaf Smith Country Cookbook by Ford, Hillard & Kooch

This was the first natural food cookbooks I was introduced to when I was first married in the early 70's. It was way over my head at the time, but what wasn't? Today, I realize it is a wonderful cookbook to begin changing one's diet into a more vegetarian flair.

Maple Syrup Baking & Dessert Cookbook by Ken Haedrich

Every recipe is beyond delicious. We haven't made anything in it we don't like and once you use pure maple syrup, you'll never go back. Grade B is best for cooking.Replacing white sugars with pure maple syrup is a step in the right direction.

Tofu Quick & Easy by Louise Hagler

A simpler version of Tofu Cookery, but just as good. I recommend this one to start, as it is more of a beginner's guide to learning how to cook with tofu.

Lidia's Italian American Kitchen By: Lidia Matticchio Bastianich

Being of Italian heritage, my memory cells often take me back to the Italian cuisine. When I want to get back in touch with my grandmother's cooking, I take out this cookbook. Lidia, through her pictures and right to the point recipes, manages to make even the most complicated Italian recipes quick and easy.
